The Lost Heroes (EE students)

In the book "The Lost Heroes" written the famous author Rick Riordon, who is known best for his Percy Jackson series which brings Greek mythology back to life and making the fans hungry and just keep wishing for more.

Now he is back with the new series "The Lost Hero" which takes the reader back to camp Half-Blood (where the Demi-Gods are being train) and brings up three new character Jason (son of Jupiter), Piper (daughter of Aphrodite) and Leo (son of Hephaestus). They are the main characters of this book and are the ones chosen for the big prophecy of the millenia.

The book is written in the third person and so the advantage is we get a more true description of the character. Because if it's in the first person, the character might describe him/her-self as a wonderful person when he/she really isn't. So if we have it as a third person, we are kind of standing outside of the story looking inside at the character and the story.

And for the age of 12+, I think this book will be a great entertainer in the times that we get bored.

The Saga Of Darren Shan Book 2 The Vampire's Assistant

This book is the best of the Darren Shan series so far to me. Darren was too lonely with Mr.Crepsley so they both went back to join the cirque again.

Here Darren could be real friends with anyone here and don't have to afraid that his strength are too strong for them. He made alot of friends but Sam was the only human boy. they see each other everyday but after when the cirque moved, Darren would never want to see Sam face again...

Alex Rider:Scorpia Rising by Anthony Horowitz

This book is another adevnturies action-pack chapter fuffils the potential of how great the Alex Rider series which is one of my favorite series that i enjoyed reading. Alex is recruited one last time to MI6 and its very end! He visited Cairo but Scorpia waited for him all along where this was officially pre-planned. They planned to inflict him alot of pain and this is where the action goes thorughout the book in boling point. Of course this would lead to deaths and one of the main character died battling Scropia!! At the very end of the book it would seem pretty complex that Alex finially get to use a gun for the first time for protecting himself in the near future! This book is a very succesful book. I like it and no dobt it brings more humour to the Alex Rider series. I cant wait to read Ark Angel to see what happens next to Alex... as the series continues!!

The Saga Of Darren Shan Book 4 The Vampire Mountain

GooseBumps: Say Cheese and Die again! by R.L Stine

This is another freeky, spooky and scary chapter in the goosebump modern day series. Each GooseBump book that i have come across with freaks me ot espicially when i read it at night and this book produce non less intense storyline!! Mr. Saur, Greg's "Sourball" teacher didn't believe Greg's terrifying story about the evil camera he found last summer. In order for Greg to get an "A", he needs to prove his story is true. This book is very spooky but i liked the mysterious plot of how a camera can kill many people just with on flash each. In some part the storyline is hard to understand in a few chapters but averagely its a good ghost story book!

Stormbreaker

Alex Rider is a fourteen year old boy, he has a normal life but when his guardian dies his world turns upside down. for being a normal school boy he turns into a super spy, as he is recruited by force to join the MI6, he is trained in the SAS and is given spy gear to protect himself, so far i have gotten to how his guardian had died and how he was forced to become a secret agent the story is like a different version of James Bond.
This is a really good book i suggest some people should give it a try.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

This book by Susanna Clarke is written about the early 1800's, where there is a magician called Mr. Gilbert Norrell, who is supposed to be the last strong magician for 100 years. He uses this magic agains Napoleon's French forces in the war to bring back the dead and terrify the French army. However, another magician emerges, a novice, Jonathan Strange. He is the complete opposite of Norrell, and on the French side of the army, and the two magicians break into a fight.
This book has a nice storyline to it, although I wouldn't recommend anyone our age read it because it is very long and I found myself getting distracted easily. On the other hand, it has good writing structure and style, and I think for older audiences it might be very good.

Rangers Apprentice: The Burning Bridge

This is the secong book in the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan, which starts follows Will, Gilan and Horace who are going to a Celtic group of town, just outside King Duncan's land, but when they get there, the land is completely barren, apart from a few bandits. Gilan decides to inform King Duncan on this as soon as possible, so leaves them to follow him with the packhorse, and their new friend, Evanlyn.

I think this book is another brilliant work by John Flanagan, and I love how he uses different techniques to make the story come alive, more so than many books I've read. I was told about the series by a friend, but I was sceptical until I read it, and now I definitely recommend you read this, if you're in for a quick adventurous book.

This book was very good and i really enjoyed reading it.

Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders - their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and they continue their lives as though nothing has changed. Most of humanity has fallen.

Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man she loves - Jared, a human who is in hiding. Unable to separate herself from Melanie's feelings, Wanderer yearns for a man she has never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off in search for the man they both love.

The Book Of Marvels by David Calcutt

All had started when Connor had drew the strange looking map for his homework. In fact, he didn't even make it, he copied it out from this old book in his dads shelves. This is when he gets involved in one of his sister's-Alice- stories... Well he kind of gets "in" the story itself. Connor will meet two pirates - at least they think they are- during a huge storm at sea. Their names, Sinbad and Sherazad. Unfortunately, right at the point where they would introduce themselves, a massive whale swallows the ship hole. A new character is found and introduced in the belly of the creature-Trismagitus- an old adventurer also trapped in the world his sister has created. They will all imbarked into an adventure in a world of magic and mystery in the search of the tower of truth their only way out...

All I can say is that once you've read the first chapters, you won't even remember in which world your in..

Hush, Hush

this book is about a girl called Nora who was forced to be lab partners with a new student called Patch. She couldn't stand him and asked to change seats but the teacher always refused. Nora couldn't put up with his teasing, his elusive questions and so on.
But before long, Nora's defenses start to break down as her curiosity about Patch heats up. Why does he always seem to know where she is and know exactly what she is thinking? and how does he know so much about her even though they've just met?
Nora needs to decide if Patch is the one who wants to do her harm or the one who's trying to keep her safe.
I loved his book and i would recommend other people to read this. it was very enjoyable reading this. I could read this book over and over again without getting bored :)

Harry Potter And The Goblit Of Fire

"Harry Potter And The Goblit Of Fire" brings the reader back to the fourth book of the Harry Potter series written by J.K Rowling. Harry must content with being mysteriously selected to compete in the prestigious Triwizard Tournament, a thrilling competition that pits him against older and more experienced students from Hogwarts and two rival wizarding schools. Meanwhile, supporters o Harry's nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort, send a schockwave of fear throughtout the wizard community when their Dark Mark scorches the sky at the Quidditch World Cup, signaling Voldemort's return to power. But for Harry. this is not the only harrowing news causing him anxiety -- he still has yet to find a date for Hogwart's Yule Ball dance.

Rangers Apprentice: Ruins of Gorlan

This is the firs book in the Ranger's Apprentice series by John Flanagan. It follows Will, an orphan who believed his father was a knight. because of this, he had always wanted to become a knight, but everyone had said he was too scrawny. When the day came to become an apprentice, Halt the Ranger took him on. Will begins to like being Halt's apprentice, and after 7 months that are going to the gathering when they realise that Morgorath (The main villain) was using ape-like beasts called Kalkaras (Which are very dangerous - it took 3 knights to kill ONE) to get revenge on the commanders that overpowered him.
I think this book is an outstanding story, and I love how Flanagan developes the characters, and creates a unique story. I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to read a fantasy-war story (like The Lord of the Rings, which was the first)

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix

With Harry's fifth return to Hogwarts, so comes with it the realization that Voldemort's return to power is not the only factor that will contribute trouble to the times. As the Ministry insist on his and Dumbledore's obvious lunacy, Harry is force to confide his trust within a different force, turning out to be just as dangerous.

Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince

Emboldened by the return of Lord Voldemort, the Death Eaters are wreaking havoc in both the Muggle and Wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe heaven it once was. Harry suspects that new dangers may lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon prepairing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. He needs Harry to help him uncover a vital key to unlocking Voldemort's defenses critical information known only to Hogwart's former Potions Professor, Horace Slughorn. With that in mind, Dumbledore manipulates his old colleague into returning to his previous post with promise of more money, a bigger office and the chance to teach the fmous Harry Potter.

Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony

This book in the Artemis Fowl series focuses on Demons, the 8th reccongnized fairy family. 10000 years ago, when most fairies moved underground, demons wanted to fight against the humans but warlocks (demons that can use magic) transported them to an island where time is nonexistant. However, soon, in human time, the spell was going to completely unwind, and all the demons would drop to earth and probably die.
Artemis Fowl, with the help of Foaly's calculations, figures out that fact, but needs to prove it. He and Butler find out that a girl found out about demons too - another child genius.
Again, another great story by Eoin Colfer, and I bet that anyone in our class would enjoy reading it.

The Stuff of Nightmares

The Stuff of Nightmares, by Malorie Blackman is a book following a boy, Kyle, who's life is in shambles. While going to a school trip, his train crashes, and most of his classmates and teachers are unconscious. Kyle finds that he can see into their nightmares, and the dreams reveal secret and horrific things about his friends, and their past, present and future.
I think this is a really great book because it's very different from the books I usually read, being a horror story. I really like Malorie Blackman's style of writing and how she gradually built up the horror. I would definitely recommend you read this book especially if you want a bit of a different story to read, unlike normal fantasies or what, by reading this blog, most 13 year olds read :D

Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception

Opaldeception.jpgThe Opal Deception is the 4th book in Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl series. It begins with Opal Koboi faking a coma in an asylum, after her rebellion failed. She now wants revenge on Holly, Fauly and Artemis, so she uses the janitors to break her out, then lures Julius and Holly into a trap, where she kills Julius. Holly then needs to get Artemis back, and revive his memory of the fairy world, before Opal kills them all..
This is another brilliant book in the series, if a bit too easy to read, with the same great characteristics of all the Artemis Fowl books including some very amusing moments, surprises and a magnificent storyline.
As always, I would definitely reccomend you read this book, and the others in the series as well as any others that Colfer has written, because he has a great writing style and his books are very enjoyable to read.

The Necromancer

This is the 4th book to the series the secrets of the immortal Nicholas Flamel, I've enjoyed reading this book although there are a lot of unexpected things happening in this book.
Nicholas & Pernelle Flamel are finally together and they are aging fast, if they do not find the book to renew their immortality that Dee stole, they will soon die. Sophie & Josh had been taught the Magic of Water and they are now back in San Francisco, just as we thought they are settling down the twins have encounter more dangerous Elders & Next Generation whom they cannot trust. They've also met Aoife, the twin sister of Scatty - she had seek Sophie to find out information about what has happen to her sister. Meanwhile, Dee has been the most wanted immortal humani as he has failed his Elder once again the entire magical world is after him, this makes Dee came up with his own plan as he does not want to serve his Elder anymore. Josh needs to be taught the magic of Fire by the one who created it all - Prometheus, Josh will become more powerful than ever, but he is still very unsure what side is he on. In the last chapter Josh had follow Dee as he ran away, separated from Sophie.
It is left with a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the Warlock.

The Sorceress

This is the 3rd book to the series " The secrets of the immortal Nicholas Flamel" . I've really enjoy reading this book, it is full of action and adventure all in this one book.
Both Sophie & Josh's powers have been awaken and now it is Nicholas's duty to keep the twins safe and seek immortals to teach them the rest of the elements, as Sophie has already learnt two elements (Air and Fire), Josh has not. They've been running away from Dee and anyone who serve the Elders (who are not on their side), they've fled Paris and now travel to London, it is a dangerous place because many of the Elder's allies are there and they could be in big trouble. Nicholas and the twins had help from people whom they can trust and seek for Gilgamesh - the oldest immortal in the world, he needs to teach the twins of legend the magic of water. Meanwhile, Pernelle is trapped on Alcatraz and she is finding a way to get out by the help of Juan the ghost, the Spider God and The Crow goddess but on this island the sphinx is desperately searching for Pernelle in order to kill the sorceress. Many more things happen in this book and every chapter is another adventure, I recommend this book the people who are interested in reading about fantasy novels.

Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code

Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code follows 13 year old Artemis again, with another scheme up his sleeve. He creates a cube using stolen old fairy technology - though it was still decades ahead of human tech - and tempts Jon Spiro with it. Spiro then tells his bodyguard to steal it, and in the process Artemis sets off a bomb, though his guard remained conscious, and shot Butler. Artemis froze Butler's brain cells, and reunited with Holly so that she could heal him, then the old team went to get the C Cube back.

Once again, Eoin Colfer wrote a marvellous book, notwithout his usual great style including humour, cliffhangers and surprises. I would definately reccomend you read this series, although the books are a bit short and easy for me.

Artemis Fowl and the Arctic Incident

This is the second book in the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer. It follows Artemis in his struggle to get his father back from the Russian Mafiya, when he meets his old enemy, Captain Holly Short, whose career was ruined because of him, and she wanted vengence, though until now she couldn't get it because of the Book's laws. Now, she suspected him of breaking into a fairy world and stealing something.

Once again, I think this is a great book, and much better than the first, which made me laugh quite a few times. I love the surprises and cliffhangers in it, and at the end of it I couldn't wait to read The Eternity Code, the book after it.

My worst best friend - Dyan Sheldon - 304 pages

i think this is a quite good book even though it isnt the type of book i usually read.

An entertaining read about best friends, worst friends, and the trouble some people can have telling the difference between the two. This book was a quick read that was light and fun while dealing with something a little more heavy. The thing that it really makes you realize is that sometimes you just have to let people go, even if it hurts, to make your life better.

Gracie was a great character, she was smart, and tough, and very concerned with the environment. She was the complete opposite of her best friend Savannah, who is the ultimate it girl. Savannah is a fly by the seat of her pants, worry about the consequences if they come type of girl. They had figured out that sometimes opposites attract, and they become best friends who are thick as thieves. The problems start when Savannah starts using Gracie as her alibi (without even telling her) and causing Gracie to lie to the people she loves.

I really couldn't stand Savannah, she was very self-involved and was constantly using Gracie and not thinking anything about her feelings. She really was a horrible best friend and I was screaming at Gracie all the way through the book to open her eyes and see what was going on! i think Cooper was probably my favorite character of the book. he was always so random. :|

stravaganza city of secrets

Matteo, who is given a book token as a birthday gift from his aunt. Matteo doesn't care much for words, writing or reading, for he is dyslexic and finds reading nearly impossible. But when he stumbles into Mr. Mortimer's antique shop, for some reason he is fascinated by antiquarian leather bound book in Latin and takes it home as a cool novelty. Little does he know that after he falls fast asleep, he will enter the city of Padavia of Talia. And in Talia, as is a normal occurrence, any affliction one has in England is corrected in the new world. So in Talia, Matteo can read just fine making it hard to return to a world where he is insecure and dysfunctional. Each Stravagante is brought to Talia for a purpose, consistency so far, to help the main character Luciano in his fight against the evil family, the de Chimici. This series is a hard one to review; it’s so very difficult to explain, due to the fact that there are numerous characters all coming and going and many plots with subplots intertwining from one book to the other. It is almost easier to review the series as a whole, rather than each book individually.

All the previous Stravagantes, Luciano, Georgia, Nick and Sky, show up in this latest novel to assist Matteo in his goal to help Luciano fight the de Chimici who is now instruments of the church, dictating that those who no longer follow the church and continue to follow pagan faiths will be arrested and burned at the stake. In the other three previous stories they meet the nomad group of Gypsies called the Manoush, friends to the Stravagantes and Royal families of Talia. The Manoush have their own pagan ceremonies celebrate feast days to honor the goddess of Belezza. With the new laws, now they are thrown up against the wall, warned that if they do not stop their heathen ways, they will be imprisoned, and put to death. So with this new threat to the city states of Talia, installed by a de Chimici Cardinal, Luciano, Matteo, and all the other players must once again combat this fearful enemy, and rush to save their friends the Manoush with all the ingenuity, strength and Stravagating magic they can muster up as a team.

stravaganza city of masks

City Of Masks is about a boy named Lucien who is surviving cancer in England. He just stopped doing chemo therapy, and can't talk so his dad buys him a book to write his words in. When Lucien falls asleep with the book in his pocket he wakes up in a city made of silver. His hair has grown back and he feels healthy, but a boy come up to him and hides him, telling him that he is in Bellezza, and only Bellezzans can be there on that day. The boy turns out to be a girl who wants to try out for a school that only boys can enter, her name is Arianna. They go to the auditions and Lucien gets picked, leaving Arianna furious at Lucien and in danger for her life. Lucien turns out to be a stravegante (someone who can travel through dimensions using an object from the dimension they were not born in), and becomes the assistant of Rofoldo, another stravagante who is the close friend/lover of the duchessa (queen of Belleza). Arianna forgives Lucien, and turns out to be the duchessa's daughter, making her the next duchessa. Lucien looses the book when in Belleza though, and the Lucien in our world dies.

The Lost Hero: The Heroes of Olympus Book 1 by Rick Riordan

This is another wonderful adventuries series written by Rick Riodan to continue the 2nd part i consider for the Percy Jackson series follow up the precceding chapter the Last Olympian.Jason the main character is pretty confused when he wakes upon a school bus on a trip to the Grand Canyon with no idea who he is or how he got there. Earnest Piper acts like Jason's girlfriend, and goofy Leo thinks he's Jason's best friend, but Jason can't remember either of them. Before he can ask many questions, all three are attacked by storm spirits and rescued by a Camp Half-Blood chariot. The newly revealed heroes have barely broken in their cabin bunks when they're called on a quest to rescue Hera (who knows who Jason really is) from dark forces stirring in the Earth -- giants and much more. Riding off in a metal dragon expertly fixed by Leo (Hephaestus' son, of course), the three seek out the nearly-as-dangerous wind gods to help find Hera. But Piper has another secret quest: Her father has been kidnapped by another giant who wants to trade her friends' lives for her father's freedom a horrible choice to make. This is a pretty confusing book at some point but still, i enjoyed reading it and hoping to get a chance to read the next chapter and see what happen to Jason!

Small Steps

Two years after being released from Camp Green Lake, Armpit is home in Austin, Texas, trying to turn his life around. But it’s hard when you have a record, and everyone expects the worst from you. The only person who believes in him is Ginny, his 10-year old disabled neighbor. Together, they are learning to take small steps. And he seems to be on the right path, until X-Ray, a old friend from Camp Green Lake, comes up with a get-rich-quick scheme. This leads to an encounter with teen pop sensation, Kaira DeLeon, and suddenly his life spins out of control, with only one thing for certain. He’ll never be the same again.

This book is by Louis Sachar, I enjoyed reading this book and also the others by the author. I recommend this book to others and hope it'll be as entertaining for you as it was for me.

Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse

It's not every day you find yourself in hand-to-claw combat with a half-lion, half-human. But when you're the son of a Greek god, these things happen. All Percy was trying to do was bring two new demigods back to camp. But the arrival of the manticore changed everything. Now his friend Annabeth is missing, a goddess - Artemis - is in chains and the general of the Titans wants to unleash a tribe of skeleton warriors on the world. Only five heroes can join the dangerous quest to defeat the monster – and the camp's Oracle has predicted that not all of the chosen five will survive...Can Percy save Annabeth – and the rest of the world – before the curse destroys him forever?

Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters

This book is the second of the Percy Jackson series. This time Percy (son of Poseidon) is at school in New York when things start to go downhill fast, beginning with some bad dreams about his friend Grover the satyr, followed by an attack by cannibalistic dodge ball players.

When Annabeth (daughter of Athena) arrives on the scene with more bad news, Percy has to set on another quest to save Camp Half-Blood, as someone has poisoned Thalia's tree. He also has to save Grover, who's found himself in a trap.

Accompanying them is Percy's class mate Tyson, a street kid who counts Percy as his only friend, but who is much, much more than he seems. The three travel to the treacherous Sea of Monsters in order to capture the Golden Fleece, which hopefully can cure Thalia's tree and restore the magical protection of the Camp.

An adventurous thrilling book combined with Greek mythology, I definitely recommend this to you as I really enjoyed reading it.

The Cardturner

Alton Richards (not Richard Alton like some of his teachers call him) has always known that Lester Trapp is his favorite uncle. He loves him. At least, that's what his mother tells him to say every time Trapp and Alton talk on the phone. But when Trapp's health problems lead to his blindness and Alton becomes Trapp's "cardturner" at his bridge club...Alton has to decide his feelings for himself - along with his feelings for Toni Castaneda, Trapp's niece by marriage and former cardturner. But he soon learns that Toni might not be as crazy as his mom says, that bridge may not be as boring as he thought, and that not all coincidences are mere coincidences.

I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to others. The Cardturner is by Louis Sachar - author of Holes. I think both genders would enjoy this book.

I am Number Four

John Smith has just arrived in Paradise, Ohio, just another stop in a string of small towns where the 15-year-old has been hiding out from the Mogadorians. Those terrifying aliens are on a mission to destroy him and the other nine Loric children who have sought refuge on Earth. The Mogadorians are picking off the surviving kids in numerical order. The first three are dead and John's number is next. Will his Legacies, his super powers, develop in time for him to fight against the enemy?

As a child Callie thought her father died of a tragic 'accident' but that's all about to change. Callie unexpectedly discovers the truth about her parentage, she draws herself into a dangerous, deadly game...

I really enjoyed reading this book and recommend this and the other books in the series.

Double Cross

This is book is the fourth novel in the award-winning Noughts and Crosses series.

Everyone assumes that a nought terrorist was responsible for the bomb that killed Callie Rose's grandmother. But only Callie Rose knows the truth and the past leaves her afraid of the future. Her boyfriend, Tobey - a nought boy at an exclusive school only wishes to stay out of trouble, graduate, go to university and leave his the dangerous streets of his childhood behind. Then, he is offered a chance to earn some money by just making a few 'deliveries'. He didn't want to be part of that world - the world of gangs but what harm could it do? Maybe he could get away with this, just this once...He realizes the dangers he's put himself and Callie in but its too late...
A small delivery could change everything...

I would recommend this book and also the previous novels in the series. It is for both boys and girls and is filled with action, adventure, romance and much more.

Runaway - Meg Cabot

This book have a very odd plot but I enjoyed it as much as I've enjoyed the books before this one. This is the last book of the Airhead series by Meg Cabot.

Although this book is quiet dragging & boring most time, I still find it quiet interesting to read, I would recommend this book to girls who like these type of novel.

city of ashes - 496 pages - cassandra clare (2 books?)

i love this book and series. it's my favourite. it's the sequel of City of Bones.

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go -- especially her newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil -- and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings -- and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

I am number four - 458 pages - Pittacus Lore (2 books?)

this is way better than the movie, in a very different way. the movie was good, but as they based it on this book, the plot was very different and very little were alike.
the book is better and i really recommend people to read it.
In the beginning they were a group of nine. Nine aliens who left their home planet of Lorien when it fell under attack by the evil Mogadorian. Nine aliens who scattered on Earth. Nine aliens who look like ordinary teenagers living ordinary lives, but who have extraordinary, paranormal skills.

The Nine had to separate and go into hiding. The Mogadorian caught Number One in Malaysia, Number Two in England, and Number Three in Kenya. All of them were killed. John Smith, of Paradise, Ohio, is Number Four. He knows that he is next.

soul eater - 334 pages - Michelle Paver.

In this book, wolf is kidnapped and will be sacrificed by the soul eaters, he has been beaten, drugged and caged. They are power hungry, evil and reek of rotting flesh as they move forward with their evil plan.

They tread a deadly dangerous path as they step into a world of deceit, treachery and lies and come face to face with the the most powerful and feared mages alive. Under the dark wings of night Torak confronts vengeful ice bears, mistrust, broken promises and a terrifying evil. Another step is taken on his quest to destroy the Soul-Eaters, but with it comes the burden of an utterly chilling secret of his own…

Spirit walker - 360 pages - michelle paver

usually second books are boring, but i think the author had really thought this through because in my opinion, it's better than the wolf brother (the first book).

in this book, a horrible sickness has spread through the forest. a horrible sickness that cannot be cured. one that eats your souls. he believes it's his job to find the cure.
This story is told in two voices --- one from Torak and the other from his spirit brother, Wolf. Although Wolf does not understand the complexities of things, he senses good and evil and the need to protect Torak. His ultimate goal is to be reunited with Torak and his journey parallels that of his spirit brother's.
Torak builds friendships within the Seal Clan, his bone kin, but also tragically discovers a darker secret in someone he trusted. His problems have become deeper and more complex in this story, especially as he begins to comprehend that he is a Spirit Walker. Renn, the Mage apprentice, is again his companion and once more proves herself to be a true friend and warrior.

Slipping by Cathleen Davitt Bell

This is a very good book however there are some parts that i did not really enjoy reading. This book is about a young boy name Michael Kimmel he lives a comfotable life with his family. A tragedy soon happens and his grandfather dies. Michael was never really close to his grandfather but Michael is disgusted that his father shows no emotion to the death of his own father. Soon Michael is pulled into an unknown chasm. Each time he visits his grandfathers memories he is becoming weaker and weaker. Michael has help from his sister and friends. They soon learn that Michael has to free himself from his grandpa's affection before its too late.
This was a very interesting book to read however it was not what i expected it to be.

Artemis Fowl

This book, Artemis Fowl, is by Eoin Colfer, and is a really great book. It has a lot of subtle humour in it, which I like because most books I read don't, but unfortunately I started the second book and was a few chapters in before I realized it was the second book, so I knew what was going to happen. It's about a boy genious, Aretmis Fowl, who finds out about the secret Fairy world underground. he then plans to kidnap a fairy, Captain Holly Short, for a ransom, but plans backfire when things get dangerous.

I think it is a superb fantasy book, and I would reccomend people read it, though it is a bit short and undescriptive, but maybe I think that because I just finished reading LotR :)

Eternal by Cynthia Leitich Smith

this book is about a girl called Miranda who was an ordinary human girl. she had a guardian angel called Zachary who always watches over her without her knowing it. Zachary's job was to protect her without her knwoing but one day, Miranda went out at night with her best friend and got caught by a vampire. Zachary had no choice but to show himself and go save her. he broke the rule, his powers are taken from him and he is stuck on earth. Miranda then got turned into a vampire, not just any vampire but a vampire princess. she died and in the afterlife, she goes to a vampire school.

now that she turned into a vampire, Zachary goes undercover to save Miranda's soul before anything else bad happens to her. they then fell in love with each other. now over a year, they are both about to get a second chance.

i really enjoyed this book and i'd recommend people to read it.

city of glass

this book is the third book of the mortal instruments.
A war was caused because of the mortal instruments and the Shadowhunters must decide to fight with the Downworlders or against them. meanwhile, Jace and Clary have their own decisions to make: should they pursue their love they know is forbidden?
later on, Jace and Clary finds out that Jace is not actually Clary's brother, Sebastian is (a Shadowhunter who betrays his kind, Valantine's son); and the war is still going on. in the end, the Shadowhunters decided to fight with the Downworlders against Valantine and his demons.

i really, really enjoyed this book and i hope the 4th book will come out soon.

Heroes of Olympus - The Lost Hero

This book is amazing once you have started reading it its really hard to stop, in a way yo can say that it is addicting. This book is all about action, and a little bit of romance. When Jason, Piper and Leo crash-land in camp half-blood, which is a camp for the children of the gods but one of the children's parent would be human. Jason's dad is Zeus, Piper is the daughter of Aphrodite and leo is the son of Hephaestus. There are rumors of curses and a missing hero making there way around the camp. It seems that Jason, Piper and Leo are the chosen ones who must set out on a quest which much be completed by the winter solstice which is in four days time. On there Quest they encounter many obstacles like fighting cyclopes and Fighting King Midas, the king with the golden touch, he was defeated by a lightning bolt that Jason created.Eventually they overcame many obstacles and came back to camp, but this quest was only the start, something much bigger was going on.
I absolutely loved this book cant wait for the next one, that will be The Son Of Neptune.

Will you still love me tomorrow

The novel 'will you still love me tomorrow' has 185 pages all writen by Denis Colby. This is a great book and i think it is mostley for age's 13 and above. It is filled with comody, romance, and is an action packed book. This fiction novel is a great book to read on holiday or even at home. I enjoyed this book thurelly and cannot wait until the next onde comes out. Unfortunately the thing that let me doen was the fact that denis colby does not write descriptively enough to make the book seem more intence in some scenes in some situations. Additionally soem parts i the book were confusing and i diddent understand parts. Overall i think if you like romance and action mixed together in one book then this book is for you. A quick summery of the book is Chloe and Emma are thrilled when they win a summer holiday to a tropical island. Two weeks in paradise with total freedom! And when they meet a famous pop star, it looks like glamour an excitement are just around the corner. But in two short weeks Chloe and Emma's whole world is turned upside down, and their lives will change forever....... Find out how these young girls lives change forever by reading this fantastic novel by Denis Colby.

The Story of Treacy Beacker

This book is a great book by Jaqueline Wilson. Unfortunately i diddent enjoy the book as much as i wanted to, this is because i think it is more for ages 7-10 and waseent a very descriptive book. Jaquelin Wilson is known for writing novels for ages 10 and under. In additon there was only 157 pages. The book is about a girl named Tracy Beaker whos parents gave her up for addoption when she was younger. All she can remember is her mother with lnong, slilky golden sand hair witha divine face. Unfortunately for treacy beacker that is only her emagination and she is willing to find her real mother and father. When the day arrives and she only has her one best friends shoulder to lean on because she is errrified, her mother finally arrives and she finds out that....................................... If your willing to find out hat is to become of Treacy and how her life will turn out now she has finnaly met her mother youa re going to have to read this book. I personally think you shoulddetn read this book because of what age this book is for.

White Fang by Jack London

Great book, in fact, one of my favourite books of all time. I find that there is so much death in this book I find it amusing, as if you know some one else is going to die before the book ends.
Brief Lists of Death: Sled Dog team, Bill, One eye, Grey Beaver's Brother, Some cat creatures, some more cat creatures, bulldog.

So as you can see, Death is mearly a few more words to read in this book.

Wolf Brother - Michelle Paver - 293 pages.

this book is one of the most interesting books i have read. i really like this book and it's different from the other books i read because i usually read books that are in this century (with the exception of clockwork angel :) but this book happened just after the age of the dinosaurs and ice age.

its about a 12 year old boy named Torak. he has lived his whole life away from the clans, even his own wolf clan. Now his father is dead, slain by a demon in the form of a great bear. it wasnt a coincidence that his father was killed by that demon. why? because it's purpose was to kill Fa (Torak's father). and now torak must kill it, though he doesnt even know how to fight, or where to find it, since he is only a kid.
but of course, he doesnt do it alone. his only other friend, a wolf cub, will play a great part himself, as the guide.

Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke

Are you a fan of Batman? Stephen, I see your hand up.... Then this book is probably your best fit. It has a brilliant sense of action, comedy and mystery. It has been made into a feature film and originally in german. It was translated by Oliver Latsch into english. However, I found the book a bit too confusing and I could easily compare this book to the movie Inception but other than that you could wrap it up and give it to a kid on Christmas. Tension is well developed through out this book and the fianle really ends in a special way.

Leap year

This novel 'Leap Year' is a fantastic novel. I read all 212 exhiliarating pages full of action, humor, comody and much, much more, if you are that type of reader than this book is for you. fortunately this book is more for age 13-16 as wendy Moss is a very detailed writer with alot of drama that goes into her books. The novel is basically about a girl who is bornon a leap year, therfore she is quite misrabelle because all her other friends have birthdays yearly apart from her, so she feels left out. Moreover forchunately for her when it is her birthday it is a Exceptionall one as her mothr regrets her birth-date and holds a huge poarty for her. There is much much more to find out if you reas this book. I personally was confused at some parts as hey were extreamely descriptive and informativ, but overall it was a AWSOME book and i think YOU should read it.

The Lord of The Rings

This series of books by J.R.R. Tolkien is a great way to spend your time, though it is very long and descriptive so some people might get bored (Not me though! :)) It starts off quite a while after The Hobbit finished, and the first chapter or so is explaining about what happened in between that time. I like how this book is written in a way that, to me, makes me think that it is Frodo or Bilbo is writing it, because although it is written in a storylike way, it could be thought of as Travel Writing, because sometiems there are stars to explain what something is, and also there is an index, which I think this a really neat touch to the book, giving it more depth.
I also only realized how old the book is when I started reading it by some of the language Tolkien uses such as ere (Before) or adding an 's' on to the end of the word hundred and thousand. I also like that even though I had seen the movies before, I still didn't know what was going to happen, because Tolkien wrote it in a way that the directer didn't reinact exactly, for example the ending is a big surprise.
I think anyone should read this, because it is a great book, and the first of its kind, and the way Tolkien uses description is great.

Bluestar's Diary

This book by Erin Hunter is a great book about Bluestar's whole life, with about 500 pages, starting with the prologue being at her death, then starting in chapter 1 when she is about to open her eyes for the first time. I think it is really good because the auther uses a lot of twists and even though we know what's going to happen roughly, because the books written before it are based after it, there are still pleanty of surprises.
This is probably my favourite single book (Not in a series) because of it's individuality and how it is a big mix of lots of genres.
Read it and you will be happy. :D

The secret Diary of Adrian Mole

The book 'the secret diary of Adrian mole' is a great book to read. I thurelly enjoyed reading all 261 pages. Sue Townsend is a fantastic writer, unforchunately i would have prefered the book much more if it was more age appropreate, overall i think this book is more for ages 14 and over. On the other hand i personally thought some parts of the book were great and very fun because the book was very dramatic. It is a fiction book. The book is basically about a young boy that goes througha matter of hard stages in his life, Additonaly his parents have a devorce and his dog is living in the basement and has to bee lookes after by Adrians grandmother. Furthermore, Adrian meets a girl called Panadora who he istantly falls in love with. I think this is a good book to read for older ages.

Infinity

I'm not so happy about reading this book nor the book's ending. I've enjoyed some chapters in this book but overall it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be, I guess this book isn't suitable for me because I'm not interested in reading about zombies.
The book is about a year 9 kid called Nick Gautier who's life has been completely messed up since the day school starts. So, there was some attacks in the city about zombies eating other people and this is because they've been playing this video game which turns them into zombies. Many insane things had happen to Nick for example he got a job offering for this guy who pays him a lot of money and it is not even a proper job. Nick is a very important person in this book, it says that he was special and have great powers but it wasn't revealed in this book. This isn't my favourite book, but it isn't the worst book I've read, I recommend this book to boys who likes zombies and killing them.

Unique - Alison-Allen Gray

One afternoon, when Dominic was cleaning out the attic with his half mad Granpa, Pops, he found a photo album, with pictures of his childhood. However, as he aged in the photos, he couldn't remember himself being there. But what really freaked him out was the last pisture:a pisture of himself, 3 years older. How on earth could that be possible? That couldn't be him...so he asked Pops, who told that that was the old Dominic, Dominics brother. Dominic had a brother, who he never knew excisted, who looked exactly like him and who even had the same name as himself. Why had his parents not said anything about this other Dominic? He wanted answers. So, later, Dominic asked his mother if he had had a brother. But insted of saying 'no, how did that crazy idea pop into your head?' she aasked how he found out. In an extremely scared voice. So Dominic told that he had found the album, and that he wanted to know more. But she wouldn't tell him. Nor would his father. Why were they being so secretive about this? well, if they weren't gonna tell him, he would find out himself...And that's when the chaos began.

I found this book interesting as it was unlike anything I had ever read before. This book was really good at the beginning, I thought that it got a little boring as most of it was Dominic being really angry and confused about what he had found out about himself. Also the ending was a bit cramped as most of the eciment was squished into the last 7-ish pages. The ending was a bit disappointing as it ended quite suddenly and I didn't get to know what would happen to Dominic. Eventhough there's quite a bit of bad critique here, I would recommend this book for a quick read, as reall, it is a rather enjoyable book.

Caroline

Pretty Little Liars - Sara Shepard

Alison, Hanna, Spencer, Emily and Aria were best friends, until that night when Alison mysteriously disappeared. After that, they all drifted apart; Aria moved to Iceland, Emily trained every single day for the swimming championship, Hanna was busy putting her past behind her and creating a new cool image, and Spencer took on way too much work for her to handle. They all led similar lives, but since Ali was gone, there was no connection between them; the past was just too painful to think about, what with all the dark secrets that only Ali knew and The Jenna Thing.

So of course Aria wasn't looking forward to moving back to Rosewood, as it would remind her of that time when her and Ali saw...no, it was to hard to even think about it. But when she met Ezra at Snookers, she just knew that they were meant to be together; there was such a connection between them....too bad he turned out to be her English teacher. When Maya moved into Ali's old house, Emily went to say hi, just to be a friendly neighbour (and because her mom told her). Strangely, as soon as she met Maya, they just clicked. It was so easy to be around her, and after that evening at the Kahn party...But Emily had a boyfriend, plus, she wasn't into girls. Was she? This year, Spencer had pilled on way too many extra clubs, oh, and she was also vice president. When she's introduce to her sister's new boyfriend, she immediately fell for him. And was he into her too, or was she only imagining it? As Hanna was now the 'Queen' of the school, everything was great. Except when she was chought shop lifting. And when she was found guilty driving drunk in a stolen car...But at least she hadn't gotten into her old gross habit. Yet. As the girls face each of their own problems, another is thrust upon them: someone called A is texting them, watching their every move and reveiling their deep, dark secrets. Secrets only Ali knew. But Ali is long gone, probably dead. And dead girls don't talk...Or do they?

I really enjoyed reading this book and I was positivly surprised at how good it was, as I was expecting another boring teen 'blah' book. But this book kept me interested as the girls secrets where partly reveiled, which left me wondering what really happened and what on earth The Jenna Thing was. I would definately recommend this book to others and I'm looking forward the read the next in the series!

Alex Rider:Point Blanc by Anthony Horowitz

This book is the second book in the Alex Rider adventuries series and it has well been a great exciting opening 2 chapters to this series. In this book a 14 year old secret agent named Alex Rider who works for London's M-16 is sent on a very dangerous undercover mission. Alex is sent in the role of a student to a finishing school called in the French Alps a place that only accepts the sons of very rich and powerful people. His mission is to investigate whether two murders of very rich men who both sent their sons to the finishing school are related. What neither Alex nor the reader knows is that that Dr. Grief (the person running the school) has an ingenious plan to take over the world using the kids at the school. The entire book is an unfolding of the mystery of what is going on at the school, as Alex makes discovery after discovery, and also is in danger because Dr. Grief and his assistant become aware of what he is up to. When Alex first gets to the school things seem pretty normal except the other kids all seemed to be acting the same and perfectly behaved, like they were brainwashed or something. Alex is told that the third and fourth floors are completely off limits and he knows that something up there is happening. When he gets up to the third floor he sees that is an exact replica of the first floor, including the kids' rooms, and there is evidence that someone is living in each room, doing every single thing that each kid does. In fact, there are televisions in the upper rooms with spying views of the same room downstairs. When Alex is about to leave the school, having seen enough, Dr. Grief catches him and plans to kill him the next morning. Expecting Alex to die Dr. Grief reveals his plan to Alex. 14 years ago Dr. Grief had cloned himself 16 times, the number of kids at the school. After waiting for them to grow to be 14, he opened the school and found the 16 kids who were now the students. He had a plastic surgeon change all his clones in order to look exactly like each one of the kids, and had them copy the kids' actions on the replica third floor. Finally he planned to have each clone of him take their place in the kids' powerful families, and grow into the most powerful people in the world. I thought this book is very fascinating, exciting at many point and hook up my attetion. I really enjoy reading it and love to continue the series further on!

Diary of a wimpy Kid II Rodrick Rules by Jeff Kinney

This is the 2nd book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and turn out to be quite interesting in my point of view because of the interesting first book where I left off. This book has a good short plot which is easy to understand. Greg Heffley is entering seventh grade. Greg and his friend Rowley are "undersized weaklings" in their school, hoping simply to just survive, but Greg starts having trouble at home, especially since his mom, Susan initiates a "swear jar" that complicates matters when she gives all the money in the jar to Manny, Greg's younger brother. Susan also initiates the "Mom Bucks" program. Mom Bucks is a system in which they earn play moneyby doing extra chores and they can cash it in for real money, each worth one cent, or getting out of doing chores. The program runs into problems when Rodrick takes all of Greg's Mom Bucks to get his poorly written history paper to turn in after the worst case scenario happens. Susan also causes more problems when she bans junk food in the house. Greg also tries every attempt to impress his crush, Holly Hills. Rodrick and Greg have problems throughout the book, including Rodrick and his band, "Loded Diper" throwing a wild party while their parents are away. Greg is forcedto use whatever means he can to cover this up to avoid getting in trouble. I thought this is indeed a worthy book to read and i enjoyed reading it from beggining to end!!!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Novelization)

Well, I did not exactly put this in my reading list because I read it before the challenge began so yeah. Okay, two years after the battlef of Mission City, the Autobots have allied themselves with Captain Lennox's squad, and are travelling around the world looking for Decepticons and stuff...
Well, apparently, the story was more well layed out than the movie, well obviously because it is simply a book, while Bay took it out and turned it into a movie.
I particularly enjoyed the Twins' conversations and how Leo seems to be tortured by Sam's plans to ranging from distracting a gaurd to reviving a former Decepticon. Okay, so at the beginning, you find Demolisher (I think??) and an Audi R8 called Sideways, so they were rampaging around Shanghai (In the movie there was a little scene, showing a deaf Chinese elder, I feel offended) And Prime learns that a being called "The Fallen" will be back on Earth looking for something. Hearing this, the Autobots looked for Sam for guidance (Even though he was no way related). When sidetracked by a Decepticon named Alice (As in Alice from Wonderland), Leo, Sam, and Mikaela hijacks a car and flees the University Sam and Leo were attending. Well, things went a little bit wrong when the car they were in got pulled up by some chopper Decepticon named Grindor and they plunged 40ft into an (abandoned) warehouse.
There, Sam was interrogated by Megatron (Yes, he's back for more) in a rather dreaful way (He (Sam) got robotic worms put inside of his brain (or nose)), turns out they were looking for a key called the Matrix of Leadership and Sam's brain was given the clues to the place. And Prime comes to save him before Scalpel (An evil Cybertronian surgeon) dissects his brain. Bee assists them but was pulled out of the fight when Starscream interferes with the fight. This caused Prime to almost face defeat but gave the rest of his power to kill Grindor, detach Starscream's hand, however was stabbed through the chest by Megatron (You could say he died). As Autobot reinforcements arrive, the Decepticons fled the scene.
Sam was depressed over Prime's death and sacrifice. The Autobots, ask Lennox and his squad for assistance in helping them find the Matrix of Leadership, they agree and all travel to Egypt, with the help of Jetfire (the former Decepticon, who knew it was in Egypt). Sam favours help from someone called Simmons, a Sector 7 major, who turned out to be Leo's internet rival, Robowarrior. They gained the upper hand on travelling to Egypt, thanks to Jetfire's teleporting powers, and found the tomb by accident when Skids and Mudflap (the Twins) were fighting over who's smarter. Sam holds the Matrix, only to find the 10,000 year old artifact disintegrate into a pile of ashes. Lennox and Epps arrives to the scene before being counterattacked by the Decepticons, now with more backup than ever. In the ensuing battle, Sam get blown by Megatron over the battle field and is critically wounded, facing near death, but his thoughts were visited by the 12 original Primes, whom the Fallen was originally one, and told him to go and because of his trust, they allow him to continue his mission, to use the key to bring Optimus Prime back to life. Sam, is reincarnated, and tosses the matrix into Prime's spark, he is brought back to life but is far too weak to fight. He is then ambushed by the Fallen, who intends to use the Matrix as a key to use the 'Solar Harvestor' to drain out the Sun. Fortunately, Jetfire offers his Jet parts for Prime at the cost of his own spark. With the new power, Prime destroys the Harvestor and impales the Fallen with his own staff, while Megqatron and Starscream flees the scene. Earth is saved again, and the connection between the Autobots and the humans deepen...

Goto the premiere of Transformers: Dark of the Moon! Coming July 1st!
